The Honda S2000 was a breakthrough for Honda, being their first
full-production FR car with VTEC the S2000 dominated the race track even in it s
stock trim with impressive handling and agility. The S2000 features a DOHC F20C5
and then later the F22C1; these engines were designed to be kept in the high-rpm
range with the help of the Close-Ratio 6-Speed Transmission. Although the car
screams at High-RPM, the low to mid range of the power band leaves something to
be desired.
Megan Racing has developed a header for the 2000+ Honda S2000 (AP1). With it s
massive 2" primaries and 2.5" Collector the header increases peak horsepower and
torque numbers in the high end of the power band where the engine was designed;
but with the Tri-Y design the entire power band including the low and mid-range
gain quite a bit. On-Track testing has shown us a noticeable increase in
out-of-corner acceleration and a more spirited feel to the car.
Like all Megan Racing exhaust products, these headers are constructed of T-304
Stainless Steel and are polished to a mirror-finish.
